A family heritage
The Cooper family has worked within the insurance industry for over four generations, dating back to pre-1900. Our story begins with Herbert Cooper, who served in the Lloyd’s of London market during the Great War. This insurance legacy continued with his son, Gordon Cooper, who worked for Lloyd’s Broker, Swann & Everett.
The tradition of excellence was further carried on by his son, Nicholas Cooper CBE. As Stanhope Cooper’s chairman, Nicholas has become a prominent figure in the UK insurance market, founding both Consolidated Insurance Group and Sterling Insurance Group.
William Cooper, the current managing director, joined Stanhope Cooper in 2009 and took the helm in 2012, proudly carrying forward the family’s insurance heritage. This multi-generational expertise gives us a unique perspective in the insurance world.
In the present day, we’re now a global powerhouse, operating as a high-net-worth insurance broking and risk management firm with a difference.
